Uses of Diovan
 
Diovan is also known by the generic name Valsartan


USES:
Valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It is also used to improve the chance of living longer after a heart attack. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.

Diovan Hct is also known by the generic name Valsartan-Hydrochlorothiazide


USES:
This drug is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This product contains two medications:
valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water.
